DiscriptioN: This film is so Mani-yish that you actually wonder if you have gone back a few years again when you saw films like 'Ben Johnson' that had the actor takes up arms against injustice; a time when Mani films used to rule the roost, with their dhamakedaar dialogues, high voltage action sequences and of course the mandatory Mani song. Mani is very much the wronged man in this film as well, and is sent to jail for eight years for a crime that he did not commit. On his return, his only sister (Vidya) commits suicide when raped by a corrupt politician Varkey (Vijayaraghavan). Mani, who was all set to turn over a new leaf, has no other option but to wreak vengeance Varkey. Its not just Mani, but there are others leading awar against Varkey as well. There is a cop named Benjamin (Siddique) who had lost his family and an MLA Lekshmi Priya (Lena) who had seen her lover being butchered to death before her own eyes! Mani and his team soon get down to the task of bringing Varkey to book, and Mani even gets to become a real life MLA! Yawn! So is there anything at all in this film that you haven't seen in a Mani film before? The answer is 'No'. And the customary features in every Mani film are here as well. Nothing haschanged for this film; neither the times, nor the techniques of film making. It's all the same as it has been a good ten years back. Unfortunately does all this sell in 2012? I have a grave doubt that even hardcore Mani fans would want to see Mani in an avatar that they have seen him in, for a million times. He however does a good job, as always, in a role that demands him to be just himself.

DiscriptioN: *Raja(Mammootty) and Kari(Lal) are professional freestyle boxers doing their trade in Delhi. Hailing from Kottayam, they are not just co-brothers but are a symbol of genuine friendship. They are nicknamed Cobras, the names being indicative of the King of snakes King Cobra and the extremely poisonous Black Cobra and they love to be called like that. So they came to be known as the King Cobra and Black Cobra. Very strong and competing among themselves in loving each other, they also like anything beginning with sound 'Co. ' They have also taken a vow to marry sisters(Padmapriya &Kanika), and in order to fulfill their wish, they gather all their belongings and savings and return to Kottayam to settle down. They look for a place beginning with Co. Their first choice was Kottayam but they could not stay there theway they wanted to. In their wanderings in search of a place, they finally land up in Coimbatore and decide to settle down there. Their life in Coimbatore and the amusing and engrossing incidents they come across are portrayed in the movie 揅obra�. Mammootty gives another brilliant and realistic performance timing his comedy acts to perfection and his good looks and physique areapt for the role. Lal is again on the prowl with his forceful acting funny lines. The partnership has clicked again as they did in 慣hommanum Makkalum�, and 態est Actor�. Lalu Alex has used all his experience to give another fine performance. The sisters� roles have been handled nicely by Padmapriya and Kanika. BabuAntony with his impressive looks was underworked with a small role. Comedy is provided by Manian Pilla Raju and Salim Kumar which is bearable up to a certain point. Rest of the cast including Jagathy Sreekumar, Kunjan, Radhika, Kalabhavan Navas, Sreejith Ravi have played their roles well.*

DiscriptioN: *Hari has been missing for more than seven years and Ani wanted to find him. Hari was Ani’s friend from childhood; besides Ani’s little sister Ashwathi’s wedding was almost finalized with Hari, her cousin. So Ani sets forth to Punjab with great expectations of finding Hari. He was not sure why Hari had to disappear especially when you know the depth of his love to Ashwathi. He found his mother in tears most of the time and watching her, he decided that he must reach Hari somehow. In Punjab, he arrives in Mallu Street and to his wonder, he locates Hari. But Hari’s name is Harinder Singh, he courts a beard and turban and his attire is purely Punjabi. Even in his behavior, Harinder Singh alias Mallu Singh looksa typical Punjabi. Ani wanted to make sure about Hari’s identity and so decides to stay put for a longer period. While contemplating the hurdles he has to overcome in a strange land tolearn the truth, help arrives in the form of Karthi and Pappan. Together, the three go in search of proof to make sure that Mallu Singh is Hari. Somewhere along the line, Suseelan joins the threesome making the situation worse. Suseelan came to Punjab to start a hair cutting saloon but on finding that no one in Punjab cuts his hair, took up cycle repair as his occupation for survival. Their probes and inquiries lead them through many adventures and they are featured very humorously in Mallu Singh *

DiscriptioN: *Grandmaster’ tells the story of Chandrasekhar (Mohanlal), who is shrewd and deft with his moves, whether it be a game of chess or a fightagainst criminals. He is an officer of the IG rank with the Metro Crime Stopper Cell. But for the last few years, he has been indifferent towards his duty as a cop and had hence stayedaway from the force, donning other posts with other departments. This had happened after he got divorced from his wife Deepthi (Priyamani),a criminal lawyer. But now, Chandrasekhar is back in form and fights it out like old times when three young girls are abducted. And immediately after that, he swings into action when he receives a letter challenging him and informing beforehand the date and the place where a crime would be committed. Then follows letters one after the other, and murders one after the other, in alphabetical order. The first victim has her name beginning with ‘A’ while the second victim’s name begins with ‘B’. The murderer challenges Chandrasekhar and goes on doing his deeds. Chandrasekhar has but little time to stop him and nab him, for he soon gets a clear idea of things that initiated the murders, but hefails to identify the murderer.*
